A tanker driver lost control on the ramp from U.S. Route 33 East to I-270 North in a northwest Columbus suburb and crashed, triggering an explosion that temporarily shut down the interchange. WHIO reports the tanker was carrying as much as 8,000 gallons of fuel at the time of the accident. The driver was killed; no other injuries are being reported.
