Airbus to test ‘flying car’ prototype by end of the year

French aeronautics Airbus giant says it plans to test a prototype for a self-piloted flying car by the end of the year. Hoping to develop an Uber-like ride-sharing solution to avoid gridlock on city roads, last year the company formed a division called Urban Air Mobility that is exploring concepts such as a vehicle to transport individuals or a helicopter-style vehicle that can carry multiple riders, according to Reuters. Airbus is the world’s largest maker of commercial helicopters, the report noted.
