Formula 1 standout Fernando Alonso made headlines this weekend by skipping the Monaco Grand Prix to race in the Indianapolis 500. Alonso was competitive late into the race until, with just 21 laps to go, his Honda engine failed, making him the latest victim of the supplier’s surprisingly sub-par reliability in the the 2017 IndyCar series. Teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay suffered the same fate.
