Former VW exeutive Oliver Schmidt will stand trial in Michigan on eleven felony counts due to his involvement in the company’s diesel emissions scandal, reports said Friday. Schmidt was arrested in Miami on Saturday. Of the six executives indicted, he is the only one expected to stand trial. The other five remain in Germany, where extradition laws prohibit their release to U.S. officials.
