December sales: Mercedes-Benz takes volume luxury sales crown

With more than 340,000 units sold in 2016, Mercedes-Benz held on to its lead in the luxury segment and took the crown from 2015 leader BMW. Lexus finished second with just over 333,000 sales. BMW brought up the rear with a total volume of 313,174 units.
